The black little lines moving in your eyes like bugs or gnats that can drive you nuts are due to the jello like substance known as vitreous tugging away from the rear wall of your eye.

It's easy to become upset and irritated with eye floaters but you really have no control over them because your body and eyes change with time and the vitreous jelly shrinks and becomes more watery which results in your floating bugs and flashing lights. Dark particles in your eyes are actually small pieces of the gel like vitreous body floating by.
