What Are The Odds For Getting A Retinal Detachment With Floaters And
Flashes?
Seeing transparent outlines of worm like shapes in the eyes or floaters may be seen by up to fifty percent of
people by age eighty. Generally this is not a problem, but 15 out of every 1 hundred people who all of a sudden
become aware of bursts of light flashing in their eyes will go on to have a tear in the retinal
tissue.
Eye Migraine Headache Attacks Are Not Triggered By
Astigmatism
A condition called ocular migraine can cause you to see shimmering lights in the vision for around half an hour
with a spot of blindness that enlarges and then goes away. They are typically connected with crooked or zig zag
lines with an appearance of waves of heat shimmering in the vision and patterns of swirling colors. If you also get
a throbbing headache with this condition then its known as a migraine headache. Other people don't get any head
ache afterwards and that is labeled as an ocular migraine. Having astigmatism is not thought to be related to eye
migraines.
