When Are Floaters Harmful To Your Eyes?

Seeing a retinologist is a good idea if you have unproblematic floaters that suddenly increase in intensity and are accompanied by bright, white or silver flashes of light off to the side of your vision. Curly pieces of hair like strands that sink or drift in the vision with showers of light should be seen at once by your eye md.

A new constant black eye floater that seems to be enlarging together with flashes of light in your vision could result in a 1 out of 7 chance of a retinal detachment. The ability to be seen and treated quickly for any retinal complications such as a detachment or tear is critical to your ultimate visual outcome.
