Reasons For Getting Black Spots In Vision
The streaks of lights flashing in your eyes are caused by the change in consistency of the vitreous from gel
like to less solid. Notably, the gel called vitreous gets to be more watery and this is why those spots, globs, and
lines show up in your vision. Wisp like, black shadows or clouds in front of your eyes can occur as the vitreous
starts to break into pieces.
In order to really make your black floaters stand out clearly, try looking at a white piece
of paper or a computer screen. This is due to the shadows cast onto the back of the eye from the floaters. Black
floaters that shoot up in your vision can very slowly drift back down when you look at the floor, this is the
vitreous material that is causing this sensation.
