What Are The Causes For Blurry Eyesight And Floaters?
Black strands of hair that seem to move back and forth in your vision are the result of the vitreous gel
breaking apart into smaller strands of material. The black strings and clumpy material floating throughout your
eyes are the end result of the vitreous gel turning more watery and shrinking as you get older. Notably, the gel
called vitreous gets to be more watery and this is why those spots, globs, and lines appear in your vision.
One or two small floaters that annoy you are a result of vitreous shrinkage and separation
from the back portion of your eye. You might become even more aware of your eye floaties and black bugs if you
stare at a white cloud or iphone screen.
Black floaters that look like peas in a pod can randomly drift upwards or downwards as you try to follow them
with your eyes. Of course other conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, astigmatism, dry eyes, or retinal problems
could be happening in addition to the floaters so it is a good idea to have a complete eye
exam.
