Are Eye Floaters Dangerous?
Eye floaters can be dangerous especially if you notice flashes of light in your vision because
this could indicate that you are developing a retinal detachment or tear of the retina. If you suddenly notice
floaters with flashes of light, there is about a one out of seven chance that you will get a retinal tear or
detachment according to the Journal of the American Medical Association.
Brownish or dark colored dirt like specks floating around your eyes usually indicate that
you have floaters of the eyes. They may also look like small dots or wisps of strings; don't fret, generally they
are not something that can harm your eyesight, however, they can be particularly frustrating when you are trying to
look at things and they get in the way.
