Are Eye Migraine Headaches Dangerous Too?
People who suffer from a sudden onset of jagged lines in their eyes along with a blind spot that gets bigger and
shimmering lights may be experiencing an ocular migraine. This may be a result of a spasming blood vessel within
your brain. Otherwise known as an ocular eye migraine, you possibly will not actually get a head ache and they
disappear in approximately a half hour. Although scary, they are usually harmless and do not cause any retinal
tears or detachments.
After cataract surgery your floaters can sometimes look like a swarm of small insects
floating in your eyes, these usually diminish over time. Less commonly, diabetic retinal bleeding can be a factor
and/or eye infections from herpes which inflame the retina. Long, wiggly thread-like floaters are experienced more
often by people who are myopic or nearsighted.
